Apple Custard Pie
9-inch pie shell, unbaked
1 cup thinly sliced, peeled and cored applies
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
4 eggs, slightly beaten
2 cups milk, heated until very warm
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon salt
Arrange apple slices on bottom of pie shell. Combine 1 tablespoon
of the sugar with cinnamon and nutmeg. Sprinkle over apples. Beat
together eggs, remaining sugar, milk, vanilla and salt. Place
prepared pie plate on oven rack. Pour egg mixture over apples in
pie shell. Bake in preheated 400 degree oven until knife inserted
halfway between center and edge comes out clean, about 30 minutes.
Cool or chill pie before serving. Note: If using a frozen pie
shell, it must be deep-dish size.

Pie was very good and easy to make. If someone is looking for a different type of apple pie, this is it. My Mother made a similar apple pie so I was intrigued to see the recipe on your site and I knew I had to try.
